One of a group of two traditional cottages overlooking the picturesque Ardminish Bay and Sound of Gigha to the mainland, this open plan cottage is ideally located to explore the fascinating Island of Gigha. Each croft affords excellent views of the Boathouse beach and the bustling yacht anchorage, which in the summer is a profusion of colour.
The Ferry croft 1 is ideally located to explore this wonderful little island. There are excellent beaches where the abundant bird and wildlife can be viewed in peace and quiet. A pleasent stroll down the main road of Gigha to the south takes you to Achamore Gardens - 50 acres of rare and unusaul plants in secluded gardens sheltered by surrounding woodland. The Gigha Hotel provides a friendly and welcoming reception when you decide not to cook or expierence the wonderful cuisine of the Boathouse overlooking the beach and the bay. The seafood is caught locally and you can actually talk to the fishermen at the South Pier when they come in for the evening with their catches. You will also have a chance of seeing the seals coming in for their evening meals.
Ferry Croft 1 provides extrmely comfortable accomodation, sleeping two with a king size bed on the upstairs gallery and comes with linen and towels (additional linen and towels can be provided by arrangement for longer stays - please contact us prior to arrival). Z beds and travel cots are avaible on request for children/infants. Dogs are welcome. The kitchen is fully equipt to meet all your needs with an electric cooker, fridge/freezer and washing machine, (complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk are supplied for your arrival). The open plan living area has a log burner (a complimentary log starter pack is supplied for your arrival), and two oil burners and a colour TV. Additional logs & kindlers can be purchased at any time during your stay.
Access to the cottage is from 4pm on the day of arrival. You will have received an email confirmation containing the key safe code which you will need to retrieve your keys on arrival. Linen, towels and toilet rolls are provided. The cottage does not have WiFi, however you will find WiFi at The Boathouse Restaurant Isle of Gigha, Gigha Gallery, Gigha Hotel and the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal.
