The Gigha Village Hall is located opposite the entrance footpath to Achamore Gardens. It is the centre for a lot of the social activity on Gigha as well as being used for public meetings, childrens parties and private functions.
The Village Hall is available for hire for private parties, weddings, public meetings, seminars, etc. Events must be booked well in advance. Contact gighavillagehall@gmail.com or telephone 01583 505251 to enquire.
The hall consists of the main function room, which will seat about 100 people comfortably, a well-equipped kitchen, toilets and storage space.
The main room has a platform, about 18 inches high, made up of 6 sections 48 inches square that can be slotted together in various formats or removed altogether, a music centre for CDs with two speakers and a karaoke machine and disco lights.
There is sports equipment available for Badminton and carpet bowls and also a small pool table.
The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, microwave, tea urn, kettles, at least 100 cups, saucers, tea plates and teaspoons, 50 dinner plates, soup bowls, knives forks and spoons (dessert and soup). There is a serving hatch into the main hall. There is also a serving hatch in the back storage space so that a bar can be provided. (Arrangements to be made with the hotel).
There is a ramp leading up to the main door and toilet facilities for the disabled and a nappy changing unit.
